About the Role

Senior OSS Engineer, Network OSS Engineering at Maersk, based in Bangalore. Maersk is a global leader in container shipping services operating in 130 countries with approximately 80,000 staff. The role involves designing, engineering, and running capabilities for the Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Tools stack for network and perimeter products, enabling highly distributed global business operations and supporting Maersk's digital transformation and network modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Build and integrate applications within the OSS ecosystem to support Fulfillment and Assurance capabilities across Core, Edge, and Cloud networks.
Design and deliver solutions for network OSS applications from Planning to analytics-driven AIOps, ensuring seamless operation across cloud and on-prem platforms.
Support delivery and program management with estimations and planning.
Validate non-functional requirements and provide capacity planning inputs.
Produce high-quality, clean, and performant code following best practices such as TDD.
Implement and publish APIs for ecosystem clients to consume platform services consistently.
Collaborate with stakeholders and Business Analysts to gather and understand requirements.
Prioritize features with product owners based on demand, industry trends, and known issues.
Support the technical design and implementation of enterprise-grade applications, including microservices, container technologies, and cloud solutions.
Monitor application performance and resolve issues related to performance.

Requirements

Experience in enterprise-grade application development, especially with Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, REST API design, and DevOps tooling including GitOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, and source control systems.
Experience with TDD, unit testing (JUnit, Mockito), and integration testing.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services such as compute, storage, networking, and security.
Knowledge of scripting languages like Python is advantageous.
Experience with containerization, cloud technologies, and telemetry tools like ELK and Prometheus.
Understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka streaming, BPMN (preferably Camunda), and large-scale batch processing.
Comfortable working in agile methodologies, ideally Scrum.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Technical knowledge of telecom OSS domains such as Fault Management, Fulfillment, Monitoring & Observability, and Network Automation is a plus.

Nice to Have

Experience in the Telecom OSS space, including Fault Management, Discovery, Digital Twins, NaaS API, and Network Automation.
Experience with frontend technologies like React or Angular.
SRE exposure and experience defining KPIs (SLI/SLOs) using open-source tools.

Qualifications

Proven experience in enterprise application development with Java 8+ or 11+.
Strong technical background in microservices, BPMN, and DevOps tools.
Experience working in telecom OSS environments is an advantage.
