About the Role

This role is for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Android mobile development within DHI Group, Inc.'s Mobile Engineering team. Key Responsibilities

Understand the company's development environment, tools, processes, and coding standards during onboarding and familiarization.
Familiarize yourself with the product, user base, key features, and overall goals of the application.
Dive into the existing codebase to understand architecture, design patterns, and coding conventions.
Contribute to ongoing projects by working on smaller tasks or bug fixes.
Code, test, debug, document, and implement complex software applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Support system and integration testing activities and initiate design reviews for new applications.
Work with product owners and designers to understand and implement the mobile application vision.
Oversee and contribute to documentation of support processes and collaborate with support teams to resolve complex issues.
Identify areas for skill improvement, learn new libraries, frameworks, or tools relevant to projects.
Set and discuss short-term and long-term goals with your manager.
Build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and other departments.
Seek and incorporate feedback to improve skills and performance.
Suggest process or tool improvements for the team.
Document work and share knowledge through documentation, presentations, or code reviews.
Research emerging trends and technologies in mobile applications and contribute to the technical vision.
Collaborate with other engineers to understand high-level mobile software designs and specifications.

Requirements

Demonstrable portfolio of published Android apps.
In-depth knowledge of Java and Kotlin.
Experience building apps that communicate with RESTful and GraphQL services.
Solid Object-Oriented Development principles.
Understanding of Continuous Integration tools and techniques.
Experience interfacing with custom APIs.
Experience with Android OS development on multiple applications.
A working understanding of Agile development methodologies.
Experience deploying apps to the Google Play store.
Commitment to delivering quality code.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organization skills, and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

Experience working with Jira Software or other development management tools.
