About the Role

We are looking for motivated Software Engineers to join the Qualcomm Infrastructure Wi-Fi Connectivity group, to be part of defining the next generation WLAN products including cutting edge WLAN applications (powered by AI in some cases). As part of this group, you will be responsible for working with a highly skilled application development team to innovate, architect, and develop next gen WLAN applications, designing software architecture for WLAN features in embedded platforms, collaborating with cross-functional driver teams, and working with connectivity technologies such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6/6e, Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 8, and Bluetooth. The role involves developing and launching next-generation Wi-Fi products in partnership with major Wi-Fi AP vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverages advanced Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
  • Analyzes user needs, software requirements, and time and cost constraints to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Designs and implements software modules for large-scale products and systems.
  • Participates in and leads design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
  • Performs complex code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code.
  • Collaborates with individuals outside the software function (e.g., Hardware, Systems, and Test engineers) to ensure solutions work with other components of a specific project.
  • Writes detailed technical documentation for complex Software projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Nice to Have

  • 2-3 years' experience with Programming Language such as C, C++
  • Exposure or experience working with Networking protocols/Embedded Systems
  • Some form of Linux based user-space application development
  • C, C++ and Python programming skills
  • Device Drivers, Embedded Software
  • Networking drivers and protocol stacks
  • Multi-threading and Linux kernel internals
  • Artificial Intelligence

Qualifications

  • Educational background as specified in requirements (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in relevant fields)
