About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Design core, backend software components that power the Kensho language models and other products
  • Build tools to empower the engineering teams
  • Code using primarily python, jsonnet, and other languages
  • Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements and support their workflows
  • Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant work experience in software development
  • Professional coding experience and fluency in any 2 of Python, C++, Rust, or Go
  • Experience architecting and developing large scale distributed systems
  • Experience designing and deploying solutions to major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, with solid understanding of CI/CD practices
  • Experience in concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments

Nice to Have

  • Your github account showing practical, entrepreneurial initiative
  • Experience building distributed systems or collaborating on internal tools
  • Experience building systems processing large amounts of data
  • Experience productionizing large machine learning models (LLMs)
  • Experience in MLOps
  • Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Grafana, Prometheus, Kafka, PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Ubuntu Linux or similar operating systems

  • Relevant work experience in software development (minimum 5 years)
