About the Role

Our Product Engineering teams are at the heart of that mission, building seamless and powerful experiences for our customers. The Senior Software Engineer - Java will be part of a collaborative, high-impact team working to create scalable, reliable systems behind some of the most intuitive tools on the web. This role involves working in a hybrid environment from our NYC office three days a week, reporting to the Engineering Team Manager, and contributing to various impactful product teams including Website Foundations, Checkouts + Payments, and Corporate Applications.

Key Responsibilities

Build scalable backend services in Java and related technologies.
Write clean, efficient code that powers high-traffic, production-ready systems.
Contribute to design decisions and architectural discussions.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers.
Create features from concept through implementation to launch.

Requirements

7+ years of professional experience in backend development using Java, Python, C, or similar languages.
Experience building large-scale, distributed systems.
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Comfortable working in collaborative environments where feedback is valued.
A degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to Have

Experience with high-performance APIs and caching layers.
Experience working on monolithic codebases.
Experience with designing and developing web applications and high-volume event pipelines.
