Senior Software Engineer (Java/Spring boot/Microservices)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
• Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
• Creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
• Performs analysis on failures, proposes design changes, and encourages operational improvements
• Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
• Takes feedback from code review and applies changes to meet standards
• Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
• Ensures all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
• Embeds software reliability engineering standards into development processes
• Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• Five to six years of relevant experience
• Expertise in Java 8 or higher
• 5+ years of experience in large scale customer facing enterprise Microservice Architecture applications using Spring Boot Frameworks, Rest API's
• Experience using Kafka or other streaming platform
• Experience in containerization, Docker/Kubernetes and monitoring tools like Splunk
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or On-Prem
• Experience using noSQL databases
• Comfortable working with and writing asynchronous operations
• Redis or other cache experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with streaming platforms like Kafka
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
• Experience with noSQL databases
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk
• Experience with caching solutions like Redis
