Senior Software Engineer, Map Fusion

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, or test robotic applications.
• Provide map data to the driver in the face of real-time world changes.
• Work cross-functionally with simulation, perception, and other partner teams to build technology that measures the performance of the online map system.
• Develop and maintain pipelines for processing large data.
• Build infrastructure and systems that support go/no go decisions for deploying the Driver.
• Work with large scale data to mine for scenarios that represent challenging cases for the driver.
• Be at the forefront of deploying a driverless truck to the road.
• Apply strong programming skills in C++ and Python and strong software design skills.
• Utilize ability to work on large code bases and a fast-growing environment.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience with software engineering, robotics, or related fields.
• Extensive experience in software engineering with a proven track record of developing high-performance and reliable software solutions.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for software development.
• Experience in developing safety-critical software ensuring high reliability and performance standards.
• Strong background in designing and optimizing low-latency, real-time systems.
• Ability to navigate and contribute effectively within large, complex codebases.
• Hands-on experience optimizing workloads on x86/x64 architectures using profiling tools.
• Deep understanding of optimization techniques for real-time applications.
• Familiarity with Bayesian probability theory for handling uncertainty and probabilistic reasoning.
• Experience maintaining and improving products to meet functional and safety requirements in mission-critical environments.
• Experience with log data mining for system insights, debugging, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Computer Science or related field.
