About the Role

The Data Services group at Bloomberg is responsible for core data and analytics services that provide a single point of entry for Bloomberg Terminal and Enterprise applications to retrieve various data. The team is developing a semantic technology-based triplestore, a type of graph database, to model, serialize, and link data into a large Knowledge Graph that can be queried to answer complex questions. The database will store semantic models and datasets used by engineering teams, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal runtime characteristics for enterprise-grade data storage.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a highly available and reliable semantic database system using RDF technologies.
Ensure that information is correctly stored and made queryable within the Knowledge Graph framework.
Work on integrating and optimizing technologies such as RDF4J, LMDB/RocksDB, and Postgres within the database infrastructure.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable data storage solutions for semantic models and datasets.

Requirements

4+ years of professional software development experience.
A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
Expertise in Database Internals, including developing replicated databases rather than just using them.

Nice to Have

Experience with Eclipse RDF4J, Apache Jena, and/or Triplestores.
Experience with LMDB and/or RocksDB.

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
