About the Role

We're developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), which develops the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies. The position involves partnering with technical leaders to drive organizational vision, manage cross-organizational initiatives, and contribute to safe human spaceflight by applying technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the design, development, testing and deployment of features into production across multiple technical teams.
  • Create and track project milestones, risks and dependencies, and describe, own and prioritize all technical requirements associated with delivery.
  • Dive deep into the design details of systems, especially related to customer interfaces and system dependencies.
  • Identify required system or service changes during early project phases and work with SDMs to estimate work involved.
  • Implement plans across teams and report on progress against technical milestones to stakeholders.
  • Understand significant business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind decisions.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in escalation and proactively review metrics to seek improvements.
  • Ensure programs stay aligned with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Partner with customers and engineering teams to determine project sequencing.
  • Write effective narratives, program updates, and present them to stakeholders and management.
  • Create plans with clear success criteria and ROI, overseeing gaps between teams, processes, and systems.
  • Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Help teams reduce exposure to failure modes such as unclear requirements, ineffective collaboration, and insufficient testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLA's for multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
  • Experience with data analysis to uncover actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams.
