As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. The Google Augmented Reality team is a group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement communications standards across a portfolio of programs including executive and partner communications.
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and Resource Stewardship whereby improvements such as utilization gains are the impact can be felt organization wide.
  • Lead a governance structure that drives executive decision-making and ensures dependencies are exposed and mitigated.
  • Seek out and identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity and affect multiple teams.
  • Manage a program portfolio solving problems that goal business impact for the organization and product area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in technical/engineering program management.
  • Experience with technical program management in the consumer software industry.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience analyzing and structuring negotiations with partners (carriers, OEMs, and retailers), with a record of negotiation and execution.
  • Ability to exercise technical judgement when working with engineers, including understanding solution designs and proactively identifying issues, gaps, and interdependencies.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with and influence executive leadership to identify business improvement opportunities and initiatives.
  • Ability to build incident management functions.

Nice to Have

  • 10 years of working experience in software, telecommunication, or consumer electronics industry.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
  • Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
  • Additional benefits are available, details of which can be shared during the hiring process.
