About the Role

The SEO Specialist owns the university's end-to-end organic-search strategy, planning, implementing, and optimizing technical SEO, content enhancements, and CRO tests across web properties to drive organic growth and lead generation. The role involves blending strong technical SEO, strategic content optimization, and light experimentation to boost search visibility, site engagement, and pipeline results while safeguarding accessibility and brand compliance. This position is hybrid and requires close collaboration with agency partners, web developers, designers, content creators, the IT team, and broader marketing stakeholders at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, which is dedicated to developing professional health care practitioners through innovative and quality education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform keyword and competitive research; create briefs for writers and designers as needed.
  • Optimize on-page elements such as metadata, headers, schema, internal links, and images/alt text.
  • Work with agency and brand partners to align content with search intent and brand voice.
  • Execute content updates on the website as needed.
  • Run monthly technical audits including crawl errors, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, structured data, and XML sitemaps.
  • Partner with the Web team to implement fixes, monitor re-indexing, and submit new content for indexing while ensuring brand standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with agency and web team to ideate, run, and analyze A/B or multivariate tests on lead generation pages.
  • Translate testing findings into UX recommendations to improve inquiries, applications, or email captures.
  • Ensure end-to-end tracking with agency partners using tools like Google Tag Manager, Marketo, and Salesforce.
  • Track KPIs in GA4, GSC, SEMrush, and PowerBI; connect keyword and traffic performance to engagement and conversion metrics.
  • Deliver monthly insight decks with analysis and recommendations.
  • Maintain SEO SOPs, audit checklists, and a backlog of optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor industry updates, algorithm changes, and emerging AI search behaviors; update playbooks accordingly.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and agencies to scope tasks, secure assets, and execute SEO & CRO recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic JavaScript familiarity for event tracking and schema implementation.
  • Relevant certifications such as Google Analytics IQ, HubSpot, SEMrush Academy.
  • Proven experience in SEO or digital marketing roles.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console (GSC), SEMrush, Ahrefs.
  • Solid understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and CMS platforms like WordPress.
  • Familiarity with content marketing and UX principles is a plus.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, results-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • SEO certifications (e.g., Google Analytics IQ, HubSpot, SEMrush Academy) are a plus.

  • Salary range: Texas & Florida: $55,600 - $72,345; California: $68,640 - $72,345.
