About the Role

The SEO/GEO Lead is responsible for implementing and optimizing search strategies across multiple brand sites, focusing on both traditional SEO and AI-driven content visibility. This role involves collaboration with content, development, and product teams to enhance site performance, structure, and schema markup, as well as monitoring brand presence in AI-generated platforms. The position is remote or based in Virginia Beach and requires a strong understanding of search engine optimization, AI content strategies, and cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Implement on-page and technical SEO across multiple brand sites, including meta tags, headers, and linking strategies.
Monitor keyword rankings, indexation, and Core Web Vitals to ensure optimal site performance.
Partner with content, development, and product teams to maintain SEO-friendly page speed and site structure.
Maintain and evolve structured data schemas such as FAQPage, Article, and LocalBusiness.
Conduct regular SEO audits and implement action plans using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console.
Structure content for maximum visibility in AI-generated answers and snapshots.
Work with content authors to create AI-friendly Q&A blocks, glossary terms, and expert quotes.
Monitor and analyze brand mentions in ChatGPT, Bing, Perplexity, and other AI platforms.
Assist in schema saturation strategies to boost factual authority across service and location pages.
Support monthly SEO and GEO reporting using GA4, Search Console, and snapshot tracking tools.
Help implement A/B and split testing to improve organic click-through rates and user experience.
Collaborate with marketing, content, and engineering teams to align content goals with platform performance.
Recommend optimizations based on ranking shifts, AI behavior, or competitive benchmarking.

Requirements

6+ years of SEO experience, preferably across large sites or multisite platforms.
Familiarity with WordPress (or headless CMS), schema markup, and page speed optimization.
Working knowledge of SEO tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console.
Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI-driven search experiences and generative discovery platforms.
Strong written communication skills, especially for content structure and clarity.

Nice to Have

Exposure to GEO principles or AI snapshot monitoring (e.g., Bing Chat, Perplexity.ai).
Experience working with structured content APIs or modular CMS tools.
Familiarity with zero-click SEO, local SEO, or multi-brand environments.
Understanding of CRO, UX, and analytics tools such as GA4, Looker Studio, Hotjar.
