About the Role

Center for Inspired Teaching, a Washington DC-based nonprofit, is creating radical change in the school experience for students by shifting focus from compliance to authentic engagement. They champion the power of curiosity, invest in teachers to make school joyful for students, and provide transformative, improvisation-based professional learning through live programming and resource dissemination across the DC region, the US, and worldwide. The organization is seeking a highly organized and video-savvy Social Media Content Strategist to join their team in a remote, part-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute posting and creation strategies for Inspired Teaching's TikTok and Reels, and create ongoing Pinterest content.
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications specialist to coordinate social media content and strategy.
  • Create and schedule 2-3 social media posts per week, primarily focused on TikTok and Instagram Reels videos.
  • Stay updated on social trends and internal communications needs to ensure timely and relevant content.
  • Coordinate with organization leadership to develop regular posting processes, schedules, and content focus.
  • Identify additional content topics and platforms for colleagues to take the lead on.
  • Maintain and update Inspired Teaching's digital library of strategies, tools, and resources on Pinterest.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of social platforms' content specifications and posting cadence/strategies.
  • Highly skilled in video editing for social audiences, specifically on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Familiarity with Canva and/or access to editing software compatible with Inspired Teaching's branding assets.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and ensure timely completion of work.

Nice to Have

  • An understanding of the preK-12 education space, including audiences such as teachers, school leaders, education organizations, and parents.
  • Located in or near Washington, DC, and able to attend organization or community events occasionally to capture content.
