Social Media and Events Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Create engaging text, images and video content via computer or smartphone using filters or other mobile design features.
• Design posts to peak curiosity and create buzz around events, products and services, including boosting posts and creating online competitions and giveaways.
• Update social media accounts' layout and information.
• Facilitate conversations with members and respond quickly to comments, questions and reviews, including after-work hours and weekends.
• Research audience preferences and stay abreast of current trends.
• Suggest new ways to attract prospective members and increase overall engagement.
• Train others (loan officers and staff) to use social media following brand guidelines.
• Provide reporting and tracking for social media outreach.
• Support event setup, execution and cleanup, including transporting and organizing materials.
• Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events.
• Create and schedule social media content before and after events, including designing event flyers and signage.
• Capture and/or edit high-quality event photography for marketing and social media.
• Assist with gathering feedback on event impact and value.
• Help with organization, care, maintenance and inventory of equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in social media execution preferred.
• Proven experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram and Pinterest.
• Excellent organizational skills and positive attitude.
• Excellent written and oral communications required.
• Must have initiative, drive, work ethic, and willingness to learn and implement new technologies.
• Must be creative, adaptable and enjoy a team environment while still being able to work independently.
• Ability to see campaigns and projects through to completion despite obstacles and time constraints.
• Ability to work in Kalamazoo a minimum of 2-3 days per week, with travel to different offices for work-related events and activities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with social media scheduling software.
• Experience in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite products.

Qualifications

• Formal educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
