About the Role

Peppers Restaurant is seeking a creative and community-minded Social Media Coordinator to maintain and grow its digital presence across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Google My Business, and Yelp. This part-time role is ideal for someone studying marketing or communications who is passionate about food, storytelling, and Boone's local scene. The position aims to increase online engagement, drive in-person visits, and foster connections with customers.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and publish posts 2-3 times per week on Instagram and Facebook, following a rotating content calendar
Design and share engaging Stories and behind-the-scenes content
Highlight weekly food and drink specials, local collaborations, and community events
Collaborate with local businesses, events, and organizations for cross-promotions
Promote Peppers' dog-friendly outdoor space during the summer season
Update and maintain business information across all platforms (Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.)
Respond to comments, reviews, and messages in a timely and friendly manner
Create and send a monthly promotional email using Mailchimp to highlight specials, events, and news
Track social media metrics including engagement, reach, and traffic
Provide a monthly insight email summarizing results and performance of content
Recommend creative adjustments and strategies to enhance online presence

Requirements

Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, and social media trends
Some experience with Canva, photo editing apps, or content creation tools
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Self-starter who can manage time and tasks independently
Passion for food, Boone's local scene, and customer engagement

Nice to Have

Enrolled in or recently completed a Marketing, Communications, or related college program

Ability to commute to Boone, NC 28607 (required)
Ability to relocate to Boone, NC 28607 before starting work (required)
