About the Role

Looking ahead to the next decade, AI is how Google will execute on the most ambitious version of our mission yet, and enable everyone to reach their full potential. The central AI marketing team is the hub for AI launches, bringing technology to developers and early adopters. As the Social Media Manager for Google AI on this team, you will drive the channel/content strategy that bolsters Google's technical leadership and drives social conversation. You will own the Google AI cross-functional channel, developing and executing an always-on editorial calendar, translating technologies into compelling narratives, and working cross-functionally with technical product partners and social channel owners to promote Google's AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy, content development and operations of the Google-AI cross-functional channel, collaborating with Cross-Product Area (xPA) teams to capture and uncover relevant topics.
  • Drive creative development for the channel, briefing creative partners and leveraging Google's tools to create content.
  • Manage all approvals for social-assets and toolkits, working with cross-functional partners and reviewers.
  • Manage reporting on overall performance of evergreen social activity weekly and monthly, partnering with analysts.
  • Coordinate for cross-functional product areas topics and major company moments, driving coordination across other AI-social channels and executives to drive a unified Google presence.
  • Monitor the AI conversation on social among AI super-fans and community leaders to drive engagement and identify opportunities for Google to participate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in social media marketing.
  • Experience managing a social channel, including developing and leading high-impact social and content strategies and engaging online communities.
  • Experience in program management or project management.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media content publishing, calendaring, and reporting tools and other native channel platform tools.
  • Experience driving earned conversation on social media and in PR and community engagement.
  • Ability to work across teams, build relationships, collaborate with leaders, and influence across all levels, functions, and geographies.
  • Ability to take initiative with an interest in experimental AI and leaps in technology and using AI tools.
  • Excellent investigative mindset with quantitative reasoning, creativity, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent creative judgment skills, and comfort in guiding development and activations with external agency partners and internal Google teams.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000-$201,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
