About the Role

The Social Media Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the social media strategy for the Academy of Art University. The role involves developing and implementing successful organic social media content and initiatives, with a strong emphasis on driving brand awareness and engagement. Key Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and schedule all organic posts for the University's main social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok), including maintaining a social media calendar, working on ad-hoc posts, coordinating graphic editing, writing/developing copy, and scheduling posts using Sprout Social.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Web teams to cross-pollinate social media content into web, digital, email, television, referral, print, and other marketing channels.
  • Review and approve all social media content developed by the Marketing Team through the institution's main social media accounts.
  • Work closely with senior marketing leadership to maintain and grow key performance metrics such as impressions, reach, post engagement, and followers, providing analysis and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Online Director of Social Media to maintain brand integrity and consistency in all posts and content.
  • Create and assess the impact of new social media strategies for LinkedIn and explore AI tools to increase response speed to trends.
  • Conduct competitor social media studies and present findings to leadership.
  • Create engaging posts tailored to each platform's audience, increase brand equity, and assist in cross-channel campaigns like brand campaigns and social media contests.
  • Post, communicate, and respond to DMs from social media accounts.
  • Advise academic departments and stakeholders on best practices for brand communication and neutrality.
  • Collaborate with content and design teams to create posts, news stories, and visuals, including interviews with students, alumni, and faculty.
  • Explore emerging platforms such as Threads and Mastodon for brand awareness opportunities.
  • Monitor and engage with other accounts to foster relationships and brand awareness.
  • Complete all tasks on time and according to brand guidelines.
  • Contribute to discussions and initiatives to improve brand equity and online reputation.
  • Identify and outreach to student influencers for future collaborations.
  • Supervise, produce, and direct shoots for social media content.
  • Stay up to date with latest brand marketing trends and best practices.

Requirements
