About the Role

The Houston Texans is looking for a Social Media Strategist to lead the planning and execution of social media strategies, analyze performance data, create engaging content, and collaborate across departments to support organizational priorities. The role is based at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, within the Digital Media division, reporting to the Director of Social Media. The position aims to contribute to the team's goal of becoming the most respected and valuable professional sports franchise in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day planning and execution of platform-specific social media strategies using performance insights and creative instincts.
  • Compile, analyze, and present analytics reports to the internal team, including recommendations for updates and improvements.
  • Manage communication and delivery of marketing, creative, digital, and broadcast assets across all social platforms.
  • Manage copywriting for all social platforms along with the Social Content Manager.
  • Assist in the development of and oversee the execution of platform-specific strategies across all social platforms.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure social support for organizational priorities.
  • Create engaging and original content for all social media platforms.
  • Create and execute social media campaigns and posts.
  • Monitor conversations with fans, brands, and influencers for intentional engagement opportunities.
  • Perform various other tasks assigned by the Director of Social Media and Sr. Director of Digital Media and Content Distribution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience developing content and managing social properties for a well-recognized brand or sports team.
  • Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media.
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of social media best practices, including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, and LinkedIn.
  • Ability to identify social trends and adjust strategy using analytical and quantitative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work long, flexible hours including gamedays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with data-driven social listening and analytics tools such as Meta Business Suite, Emplifi, etc.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities in a high-energy environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure and within deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Occasional travel related to job duties.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, stand, walk, sit, drive, bend, squat, climb, twist, and reach as necessary.

Qualifications
