Social/Digital Media Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and support for all internal and external customers of the Oneida Nation at all times and in all activities.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers of the Nation.
• Develop, maintain, and facilitate effective relationships, communication processes, and activities with Communications, Government Administration, Intergovernmental Affairs teams, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure established procedures and processes are utilized to maximize understanding and coordination.
• Attend and conduct department meetings to ensure effective communication.
• Utilize brand and direct marketing principles including target marketing to maintain and enhance the Nation's image.
• Assist in brand compliance and monitoring.
• Coordinate and organize website content in graphics and text across the Nation's platforms within deadlines.
• Develop supporting content related to Nation Building Projects, Intergovernmental Affairs, or other initiatives, including collateral library and reference materials.
• Maintain, manage, and update the Nation's webpages and social media content, overseeing quality assurance and change initiatives.
• Schedule social media postings in collaboration with overall initiatives such as Oneida Live.
• Monitor social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and blogs.
• Research and stay informed on laws and advancements in social media, internet marketing, and email marketing.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators for web and social media campaigns, and report on their effectiveness.
• Provide feedback and insights on social media monitoring to support government strategies and public education efforts.
• Work closely with the Communications team to develop and maintain a content strategy for website and social media platforms.

Requirements

• Knowledge of branding, marketing, digital media software, and visual communication skills.
• Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic math.
• Ability to conduct and manage research analysis.
• Skill in utilizing web and social media content.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of the Oneida Nation's governance structure and operations.
• Knowledge of developing written content for social media, websites, and other communication collateral.
• Skill in graphics design, video editing, and understanding web design.
• Ability to represent the organization professionally, tactfully, and respectfully.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Experience in website, social media, and/or digital marketing.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with internal/external communication for the Oneida Nation.
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs.
• Knowledge of search engine optimization and Google Analytics.
