About the Role

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. This position will work in a team with other software developers to procure, develop and/or maintain a suite of technologies related to DevSecOps. These technologies are used across the software engineering department at GA-ASI for developing software products used in our product line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine user requirements and specifications and plan for software development within the broader organizational scope.
  • Formulate detailed plans for the implementation of software solutions, including determining language, platform, and resource requirements.
  • Implement design including coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Deploy applications across the enterprise, ensuring cross-platform compliance and resource availability.
  • Maintain code through debugging and updates to keep pace with the evolving environment.
  • Assist in planning for future applications based on new developments in computer technology.
  • Communicate with the software developer group, users, management, and the wider community through publishing and presenting technical papers.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Observe all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations, working in a safe manner according to established procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development including end-user, system level, and data management applications.
  • Ability to formulate detailed implementation plans for software solutions.
  • Skills in coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Knowledge of deploying applications across enterprise environments with cross-platform compliance.
  • Ability to debug and update code to adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and technical presentation.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and safety regulations.
