Key Responsibilities

  • Develop infrastructure, design best practices, evaluate delivery pipelines, and enable application development teams in building industry-leading secure applications.
  • Collaborate across teams to research, design, and implement new features.
  • Complete complex software maintenance and enhancements independently within assigned software application or program with impact on the broader solution.
  • Analyze and translate advanced user requirements and design into software solutions.
  • Follow and enforce established software development methodologies and procedures.
  • Design and build responsive web applications.
  • Stand up restful web services.
  • Implement container-driven development using Kubernetes and micro-services.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve moderately complex customer issues and bugs.
  • Perform unit testing and integration testing as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Generally, requires 6+ years' experience in software development.
  • Proficient with Angular, Java, React, TypeScript or GWT.
  • Experience with cloud technology stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Kafka, SSO, Cassandra).
  • Proficient with developing responsive content.
  • Experience with Java or other Object Oriented Languages.
  • Experience with RDBS (Postgres, SQL, Oracle).
  • Understanding of core web development aspects (patterns, architecture, IDE).
  • Experience with asynchronous workflows/patterns.
  • Working knowledge of web trends, architecture, and deployment patterns.
  • Experience with Git including branching/merging workflows.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
  • Commitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Big Data, Spark, Databricks, .NET, Agile, Scrum, Time Series, SDLC, Automated Testing, POSIX, System Engineering, Security, DevSecOps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
