About the Role

Join CVS Health as a Software Development Engineer and role model to peers and clients in AS/400 IT application development. Within the AS/400 application development area, you will be responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, and review to ensure adherence to quality requirements and product functionality. You will work closely with SMEs in specific functional areas, particularly related to RxClaim adjudication application, to gain knowledge and support both functionally and technically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with CVS leads on analysis, development, and estimation activities related to designated project/functional area in IBM AS/400 (IBM i) environment.
  • Coordinate with offshore team members, resolve issues in production, and prepare and execute project plans.
  • Perform requirement and gap analysis, raise change control requests to move changes to user acceptance testing server and then to production server, and deploy changes to production per implementation plan.
  • Make appropriate and effective data integration across multiple applications.
  • Create and review technical solutions and document projects, including analysis & design, program specifications, code reviews, and test plans.
  • Help define standards, methodologies, and guidelines, ensuring compliance while aligning solutions to the RxClaim application architecture.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience and a deep understanding of AS/400 application development, maintenance, and support.
  • 3+ years of application development experience in RPG, RPGLE, and CL; Synon2/E (COOL 2/E).
  • 3+ years of IBM i SQL experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working on SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated successful completion of several medium to large scope projects with proficiency in all phases of SDLC and problem resolution through research and fact-finding.
  • Experience with RxClaim or other PBM Adjudication systems.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
