Key Responsibilities

Manage a group of talented Software Development Engineers (SDEs) and oversee their work on the design, implementation, and delivery of large technology initiatives for Prime Video Personalization and content promotions on the PV Homepage.
Lead initiatives, manage roadmaps, and develop forward-looking technical strategies.
Design and build innovative software solutions for customers.
Coordinate with various parts of Tech, Product, and business teams to ensure project success.
Craft goal updates for key objectives and communicate progress to senior leadership.
Attend engineering standups, unblock milestones, and update engineering roadmaps.
Work through launch blockers with engineers and collaborate with Product managers on project requirements.

Requirements

3+ years of engineering team management experience.
7+ years of direct experience working within engineering teams.
3+ years of designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
8+ years of leading the development of multi-tier web services.
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Nice to Have

Experience in communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe software features, designs, and strategy.
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
