About the Role

As a software engineer for Airborne Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit, crypto products for identifying friendly aircraft, and weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons. The role involves working to ensure the world's most advanced aircraft maintain air superiority and information dominance.

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of a cross functional team responsible for airborne computers, crypto products, and weapon control systems.
Contribute to the development and integration of software solutions that support mission-critical systems.
Ensure the functionality and reliability of software used in airborne and weapon systems.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
Requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
Agile experience preferred.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.
Strong understanding of software development process, as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
Creative thinker capable of applying new information quickly to solve challenging problems.
Comfortable providing technical leadership.
Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.

Nice to Have

Embedded C/C++
Experience with Rust, Python
Software Development Leadership experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
2+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree.
