Job Description

About the Role

This role involves developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes. The position requires participation in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of application components, along with creating technical documentation and providing technical support. The candidate will work in a hybrid environment based in Austin, TX, with a mix of remote and onsite work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Investigate problem areas and prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing, and deployment of new application components.
  • Create technical and design documentation as required.
  • Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
  • Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
  • Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution.
  • Analyze software for defects and performance tuning opportunities.
  • Manage repositories, branching strategies, and access control in GitHub.
  • Automate workflows using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Configure Jira projects, workflows, custom fields, and user permissions.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to support Agile project tracking.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPCs, IAM roles, S3, and automate using CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Support and support end users on various tools and systems.
  • Support Hyper-V server administration, hardware, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Integrate new webhooks into GitHub projects to automate compliance checks.

Requirements

  • Experience with Agile Scrum and DevOps methodologies.
  • Manage repositories, branching strategies, and access control in GitHub.
  • Automate workflows using GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Configure Jira projects, workflows, custom fields, and user permissions.
  • Provision and manage AWS EC2 instances, VPCs, IAM roles, S3 buckets, and related services.
  • Use programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Angular, Maven, Shell, Ruby, Perl, and Python.
  • Experience working in Developer IDEs like Eclipse or IBM Rational Application Developer.
  • Support and support end users on various tools and systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V server administration, hardware, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration Delivery models.
  • Experience with automation/build tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, and OpenShift.
  • Experience with WebSphere, JBoss, and Tomcat servers.
  • Scripting experience with Maven, Shell, Ruby, Perl, and Python.
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Supporting and training end users at all levels.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with large development projects using Agile methodology.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in relevant technical roles.
