About the Role

SAIC's Space & Intel Business Group, USG Mission and Information Technology Division, is seeking a Software Engineer to support enterprise web applications and software development teams. This position is in Herndon, VA, requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, and involves designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based systems using various technologies. SAIC is a Fortune 500 mission integrator focused on advancing technology and innovation to serve and protect the world, with a diverse portfolio across defense, space, civilian, and intelligence markets.

Key Responsibilities

Support enterprise web applications and software development teams.
Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.
Develop software using languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
Review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies.
Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.
Work with DevOps tools like GitHub and Jenkins to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needs.
Work within an Agile Scrum-based development team.
Review and implement web services, API, and RESTful interfaces.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience or Master's degree with 7+ years of experience.
Ability to design, develop, and deploy cloud-based systems.
Experience in software development with Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
Excellent programming skills for proper interpretation and implementation of code.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.), Docker, and Ansible.
Documented experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering.
Experience utilizing DevOps tools like GitHub and Jenkins for CI/CD.
Strong understanding of web services, API, and REST.
Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum teams.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree as specified in requirements.
