The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced/Senior) to support our Onboard Performance Tool group located in Seattle, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization. We are looking for a Software Engineer with preferred experience in airplane performance and flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
  • Develops code and integrates complex software components into fully functional software systems.
  • Provides technical guidance and collaborates with team members and suppliers on software projects.
  • Participates in the development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.
  • Assists in planning, executing, and documenting software research and development projects.
  • Acts as a subject matter resource for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.
  • Monitors and evaluates software team and supplier performance to help ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Works with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • 1+ years of experience with C, C++ or Java.
  • Experience in airplane performance, flight dynamics, and/or commercial flight training (2+ years).
  • C++ development experience on both MacOS and Windows.
  • Understanding of commercial, business and military airplane performance.

Nice to Have

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with agile software development, CI/CD environments, and cloud hosting of applications.
  • Previous customer support and technical product management of airplane performance tools.
  • FORTRAN and SQL skills.

Qualifications

  • Educational background or experience equivalent to the required skills.
  • U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
