The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced/Senior) to support our Onboard Performance Tool group located in Seattle, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization. We are looking for a Software Engineer with preferred experience in airplane performance and flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

Contributes to the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
Develops code and integrates complex software components into fully functional software systems.
Provides technical guidance and collaborates with team members and suppliers on software projects.
Participates in the development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.
Assists in planning, executing, and documenting software research and development projects.
Acts as a subject matter resource for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.
Monitors and evaluates software team and supplier performance to help ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
Works with limited supervision.

Requirements

1+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle.
1+ years of experience with C, C++ or Java.
Experience in airplane performance, flight dynamics, and/or commercial flight training (2+ years).
C++ development experience on both MacOS and Windows.
Understanding of commercial, business and military airplane performance.

Nice to Have

Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with agile software development, CI/CD environments, and cloud hosting of applications.
Previous customer support and technical product management of airplane performance tools.
FORTRAN and SQL skills.

Qualifications

Educational background or experience equivalent to the required skills.
U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
