As a Software Engineer within PNC's Technology - Corporate & Institutional Banking organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL, or Dallas, TX. As a Software Engineer on our Healthcare Imaging (HCI) team, you will develop, maintain, and enhance software solutions related to healthcare imaging and data processing, working closely with business analysts and QA testers, with a focus on HIPAA compliance and IOCR technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive images of Explanation of Benefits (EOB), on behalf of healthcare clients, and use IOCR (Intelligent Optical Character Recognition) technology and in-house applications to create industry standard files for input to the Healthcare Advantage (HCA) platform.
  • Work on an Agile Kanban team to develop, maintain, and enhance AnyDoc Templates.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and QA Testers.
  • Develop, test, and implement software solutions.
  • Design software solutions to address business needs.
  • Write code, test, and deploy software.
  • Prepare technical and procedural documentation required for software.
  • Maintain and debug software.
  • Work with Private Health Information (PHI) and complete HIPAA training/certification.
  • Problem solve to determine the best course of action related to IOCR efficiency.

Requirements

  • Application Development, Business Management, Customer Solutions, Design, Group Problem Solving, Process Improvements, Release Management, Software Solutions, User Experience (UX) Design skills.
  • Application Design, Architecture, Application Development Tools, Application Maintenance, Application Testing, Packaged Application Integration, System Development Life Cycle, Technical Troubleshooting, Technical Writing/Documentation competencies.
  • Typically require a university/college degree with 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience working with Private Health Information (PHI).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IOCR technology.
  • Experience developing healthcare-related software solutions.
