Software Engineer, Frontend

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Own frontend across product and marketing surfaces: work on core product interfaces and customer-facing web pages to ensure a cohesive, polished user experience and maintain branding consistency.
• Lead design system and UI components: design, build, and maintain a scalable design system and reusable component library, collaborating with designers to establish guidelines and patterns.
• Craft pixel-perfect user experiences: translate Figma designs into high-quality, delightful interfaces with attention to detail in typography, spacing, motion, and interactions.
• Champion frontend excellence: set and uphold high standards for performance, accessibility, and code quality, optimizing frontend speed and ensuring cross-browser/device compatibility.
• Move fast with pragmatism and quality: iterate quickly to ship improvements and features, making thoughtful trade-offs between rapid delivery and maintainability.
• Full-stack involvement: integrate frontend features with GraphQL APIs, occasionally update server-side code in Go, and do what it takes across the stack to deliver a seamless product experience.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (5+ years) building web interfaces using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS with a proven track record of shipping polished user interfaces.
• Strong design sense and attention to detail, with a passion for software craftsmanship and creating pixel-perfect, intuitive UIs.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to work closely with designers and product managers and articulate tradeoffs and solutions.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing projects with minimal guidance in fast-paced environments.
• Pragmatic problem-solving skills, making effective trade-offs considering user impact and long-term maintainability.
• Solid understanding of backend fundamentals, including experience with web APIs, databases, and servers; familiarity with GraphQL and Go is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or contributing to design systems or component libraries, either professionally or in open-source projects.
• Experience with UI/UX design, user research, visual or interaction design, especially if working closely with UX designers.
• Exposure to AI or ML products, especially building UIs for complex data or AI-driven features like chat interfaces or analytics dashboards.
• Experience with our broader tech stack, including GraphQL libraries like gqlgen or Relay, Go, and cloud platforms.
• Startup mentality, with experience as an early engineer in a startup or small team, understanding the need for flexibility and initiative.
