About the Role

Chewy is seeking highly driven and passionate early career professionals to join our software development teams in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Boston, MA, as Entry-Level Software Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with our full-stack engineering teams that support Chewy's behind-the-scenes operations while gaining significant exposure to our entire business. You can work on cloud-based integrations that enhance our core e-commerce platform. Key Responsibilities

  • Work on functions that improve the end-to-end supply chain experience, including purchase order management, electronic data exchange platforms, vendor compliance tools, inventory visibility, and operational analytics.
  • Design and build interfaces that integrate every aspect of our supply chain through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Write simple, scalable, and sustainable code that deeply understands our business needs and contributes significantly to team success and operational excellence.
  • Participate in creating ground breaking solutions that help Chewy remain the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Information Technology.
  • 1-2 years of experience coding in Java.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services for cloud-based application development.
  • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
  • Proficiency in working with databases and SQL.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take accountability for your work.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to or experience with additional AWS tools and services.
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges and learn from peers.
