About the Role

The Software Engineer I will design, code, and test software functions and modules, under the guidance of senior engineers. This junior role involves understanding problems, developing solutions, and engaging with key stakeholders to refine approaches. The successful candidate will write complete, efficient, and well-commented code that meets customer experience needs and project requirements. They will also create unit and feature tests to ensure compliance with performance, scalability, and security standards. Additionally, the engineer will address bugs within the product, continuously learn, and explore in-depth project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a design, including system architecture, layout of services, APIs, backend and frontend changes, considering options to solve problems, driving estimations with regard to cost and long-term impact, and addressing current and future use cases.
Review design with peers, incorporate feedback, and set high standards for design documentation.
Develop software that meets requirements for scalability, performance, security, accessibility, and localizability, while aligning with the company's infrastructure and frameworks.
Develop high-quality, efficient, modular code following coding guidelines, ensuring code is production-ready and undergoes smooth code reviews.
Solve problems with ambiguous requirements, substantial risks, and conflicting constraints, making tradeoffs between short-term delivery and long-term maintainability.
Drive bug fixing and resolution throughout the product lifecycle, addressing issues from feature testing, QA, and customer reports.
Create and run unit and feature tests, ensure code review feedback is incorporated, and prepare code for handoff to QA.
Adhere to all confidentiality and compliance regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

B.S in Computer Science or equivalent with 1-3 years of experience in developing, designing, coding, and testing software in modern systems and languages.
Awareness and knowledge of software design and coding methodologies.
Experience with development and design best practices based on industry knowledge.
Ability to work with modern third-party technologies and assist in making software decisions.
Knowledge of development and test methodologies and tools for designing, coding, and testing software.
Ability to create processes and frameworks for engineering development workflows.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey messages to peers and senior engineers.
Experience in improving software performance, scalability, and availability, including understanding of processor, caching, and backend accelerators.
