Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the estimation, design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of applications for a business area.
  • Able to complete complex feature development tasks.
  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features.
  • Design, code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables using agreed upon standards and tools.
  • Lead sizing and estimation activities within the agile team.
  • Communicate daily with the Scrum Master or Team Lead and the Agile team on progress and impediments.
  • Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives, and lead parts of these processes.
  • Focus on delivering business priority and value at all times.
  • Ensure the quality of features through manual and automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Design solutions aligned with company architecture and standards.
  • Lead proof of concept work and prototyping when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand and define requirements.
  • Work with UX designers to translate designs into working solutions.
  • Establish the definition of done for each stage of production within the team.
  • Coordinate with Test Engineers to ensure successful transition of work to production.
  • Promote an innovation culture through continuous improvement and evaluation of new processes and technologies.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support Engineers to transition features to production, ensuring performance and stability.
  • Automate testing to ensure high-quality application delivery.
  • Keep project progress updated in ALM tools and participate in daily standups.
  • Always consider the end customer to improve and delight their experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent relevant business experience.
  • 4+ years experience with demonstrated success in software development or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in Mainframe systems.
  • Skilled in COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM.
  • Knowledge of SCLM, IMS, CICS, Control-M a benefit.
  • Demonstrates analytical ability and critical thinking skills.
  • Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
  • Self motivated and results oriented.
  • Takes an innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Able to solve complex technical problems and drive system optimizations.
  • Demonstrates strong focus on quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and across organizational areas.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of SCLM, IMS, CICS, Control-M.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in software development.
