About the Role

Chewy's Product Catalog Management team is on a mission to build and maintain innovative solutions that enable our internal stakeholders to seamlessly manage or access Chewy's large catalog of product and item identify information. Engineering plays a pivotal role in defining and driving our platform roadmap. We take time to understand the "why" before we start crafting up the "how". We celebrate engineering successes and promote a blameless and continuous learning and improvement engineering culture. We set the bar high for delivering production-ready code by adopting CI/CD (continuous integration & continuous deployment) and DevOps engineering standard methodologies. Our engineers are encouraged to contribute ideas and code to our own platform and to other partner teams.

Key Responsibilities

Apply algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to produce efficient, secure and performant code
Develop, extend, and debug code within the scope of the team's existing tools and services
Complete simple design and debug tasks
Troubleshoot root causes of and solutions for bugs and production issues
Contribute to the team's standard processes for logging, testing, instrumentation, metrics, monitors, alerts, practices, and processes
Make meaningful contributions to the team's existing service architecture, data architecture, dev-ops, and infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and public cloud services as part of a software development team
Participate in on-call rotations and operational efficiency

Requirements

3+ years of Software Engineering experience
Experience in current core web application technologies: Kotlin, Spring, Spock/JUnit
Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs
Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar technical field of study preferred), or equivalent work experience

Nice to Have

Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
Experience with TypeScript, React and GraphQL
Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar automated testing tools
Experience developing CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tool
