About the Role

As a Software Engineer - Android within Uber's Finprod org, you will play a key role in developing the next generation of financial products that empower our customers to achieve their financial goals. As an essential part of delivering magical customer experience, our team builds engaging solutions by tackling complex technical challenges unique to Uber's business. You'll write reliable, maintainable code that other teams across the company depend on, and you'll collaborate closely with teammates to design, develop, and maintain user interfaces and features for our Android mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design financial services solutions
Coding in Android (Kotlin or Java)
Collaborate on code and design reviews, and write unit and snapshot tests to achieve full test coverage and quality standards for your code
Work collaboratively with other engineers and cross functional stakeholders, like Product Managers, Designers and Data Scientists

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
2+ years working with Android applications and technical software engineering experience
Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, strong knowledge of both programming languages commonly used for Android development
Experience with Android SDK, strong knowledge of Android's core libraries, tools, and frameworks
Knowledge of Android UI/UX Design Principles, experience designing responsive and intuitive user interfaces

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
