As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Product Innovation Team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest Generative AI technologies and ecosystems, driving innovation and efficiency in our solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement standard software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Utilize AWS services (such as S3, ECS, EKS, EMR, Athena, Lambda, Glue) to create scalable and secure cloud solutions
  • Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot while considering upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to enhance the value achieved through automation
  • Conduct various types of testing, including unit testing, smoke testing, functional testing, end-to-end testing, and acceptance testing
  • Perform usability tests, identify vulnerabilities, and compile results for evaluation
  • Analyze test results in relation to database impacts, errors, bugs, and usability
  • Write and analyze Splunk queries to interpret AWS CloudTrail logs, ensuring effective monitoring and security
  • Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify issues and contribute to decision-making for secure, stable application development
  • Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems
  • Engage with the latest Generative AI technologies and ecosystems to enhance product offerings and drive innovation

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to write efficient and scalable code for data processing and analysis
  • Hands-on experience in automation scripting, white box testing either with Java or Python
  • Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, with proven experience in an automation role
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (React or Javascript) and cloud technologies
  • Proven track record of building test automation and driving efforts for implementing test frameworks on web/mobile or service-oriented architectures
  • Experience in QA testing, creating test artifacts, and reporting defects

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of applied experience in software engineering
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with automation scripting and QA methodologies
