Software Engineer II - React.js

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the estimation, design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of applications for a business area.
• Able to complete complex feature development tasks.
• Responsible for communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features.
• Design, code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables using agreed standards and tools.
• Lead sizing and estimation activities within the agile team.
• Communicate daily with the Scrum Master or Team Lead and the Agile team on progress and impediments.
• Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives; contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
• Focus on delivering business priority and value at all times.
• Ensure the quality of features through manual and automated testing and continuous integration.
• Design solutions aligned with company architecture and standards.
• Lead proof of concept work and prototyping when necessary.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand and define deliverable requirements.
• Work with UX designers to translate designs into working solutions.
• Establish the definition of done for each stage of production within the team.
• Coordinate with Test Engineers to ensure software meets quality standards and transitions smoothly through production stages.
• Automate testing to ensure high-quality application delivery.
• Keep project progress updated in ALM tools and participate in daily standups.
• Think with the end customer in mind to improve customer experience and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Strong experience with React.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience designing Software Architecture with Cloud Resources.
• Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with component-driven development and modular UI architecture.
• Familiarity with AWS front-end services (e.g., S3, CloudFront, Lambda).
• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Strong unit and integration testing skills using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Ability to collaborate with designers using tools like Figma or LucidChart.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Storybook for UI component development.
• Familiarity with Webpack or Vite for front-end build tooling.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Background in modernizing legacy front-end systems.
• Experience in Financial Services or Healthcare domains.
• Exposure to performance tuning and secure front-end development.
• Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent relevant business experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software development or equivalent experience.
