Job Description

About the Role

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team. This role involves supporting the LE2 Program for EGSE, working with project partners, and contributing to modernization efforts to enhance efficiency, security, automation, and scalability. The position supports space technology development at Lockheed Martin Space, emphasizing innovation, resiliency, and future-ready solutions in the space domain. The selected candidate will work near Littleton, CO, with some teleworking options, and will need to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the EGSE Organization as a software engineer.
  • Support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation and scalability.
  • Collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, electrical and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology.
  • Coordinate with the product line manager and directorates to support needs.

Requirements

  • Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, LabView, Python, Java, TestStand.
  • 5+ years professional experience; 3+ years with Masters degree.
  • Experience working on project teams and development efforts.
  • Experience developing software requirements, CONOPs, and software design.
  • Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
  • Issue tracking and troubleshooting experience.
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
  • Experience in simulation software development, software testing and validation, and software configuration management.
  • Systems thinking mindset.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Experience with Jira or other Atlassian tool sets.
  • Strong communication, social, and problem resolution skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
