About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The role involves working on critical projects across various areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile development. The position offers opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves, requiring engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full technology stack. Specifically, this role focuses on developing and improving developer tools and infrastructure for the Wear Platform, including test automation and tooling to enhance engineering velocity, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Develop and improve multi-device test automation infrastructures for the Wear Platform.
Design and build tooling and infrastructure to help engineering teams measure and increase their velocity.
Focus on reliability and scalability and building useful, feature-rich dashboards to deliver actionable results.
Contribute to engineering efforts from planning to execution and delivery to solve engineering problems in infrastructure, tools, and testing.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of infrastructure design.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience in developer infrastructure, reliability, software optimization, and building testing tools.
2 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Qualifications

Educational background includes at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with developer tools, infrastructure design, and software development in multiple programming languages.

Benefits & Perks

US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
Additional benefits include bonus, equity, and other benefits as outlined by Google.
