About the Role

The SDA Tranche 1 SOC role will be responsible for managing and leading a small operations crew and performing real-time satellite operations on complex communications systems. This position involves establishing communications, configuring and monitoring displays, coordinating multiple programs, resolving anomalies, and supporting engineering development and testing in a dynamic operational environment. The work is performed onsite at a Lockheed Martin facility and requires a government security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide management of and leadership to the operations crew
Establish voice, messaging, and data communications for multiple-satellite programs of varying priorities and classifications
Configure and monitor displays for computer and network equipment during normal mission operations
Coordinate and schedule multiple programs using custom software tools
Contribute to ground system inputs toward engineering development and testing
Determine and resolve anomalous conditions
Generate downtime reports and documentation for operational outages
Provide inputs to process improvements
Support operational reviews, engineering review, and problem boards
Support ground system development work, working groups, and test and checkout activities

Requirements

Experience with solving complex and/or parallel problems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work within a dynamic operational environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to pivot within a dynamic operational environment
Proficiency with MS Office products

Experience with satellite operations
Experience leading an operational team
Experience with testing, development work, or system integration
Collaborative mindset toward continuous process improvement

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship
Ability to obtain a government security clearance at the Secret level
