About the Role

Kensho is S&P Global's hub for AI innovation and transformation. With expertise in Machine Learning and data discovery, we develop and deploy novel solutions for S&P Global and its customers worldwide. Our solutions focus on speech recognition, entity linking, document extraction, automated database linking, text classification, natural language processing, and more. As a Software Engineer, Site Reliability (SRE), you will ensure the reliability and uptime of Kensho's services, working closely with Infrastructure and Application Engineers, Technical Architects, Product and Engineering Managers, and Application Developers to maintain stability and improve systems. We foster a collaborative, transparent, and flexible work environment with opportunities for remote work within the United States and occasional travel to our hubs in Cambridge, MA, or NYC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and stabilize Kensho's production services that support critical financial applications and backend processes
  • Monitor, maintain, and help scale services integrated into S&P's platform
  • Manage end-to-end availability and performance of critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence
  • Add, tune, and maintain alert configurations and documentation as needed
  • Design and build advanced automated operational and deployment frameworks alongside tooling and infrastructure to help engineering teams measure and increase their velocity
  • Cultivate full-team participation in high quality, thoughtful software
  • Participate in on-call/production support
  • Develop and adapt tools and applications to automate tasks

Requirements

  • Software development experience developing or building a scalable application
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • Strong experience with coding and debugging large applications or services
  • Fluency in any two or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C++)
  • Practical understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
  • DevOps experience supporting production services in a modern, containerized cloud environment
  • Experience with scalable testing, automation, continuous integration frameworks, and best practices
