About the Role

We are Lockheed Martin. This position is in Palmdale, CA, within the Aeronautics business unit, focusing on advanced software engineering for Skunk Works projects. The role involves working on technology development lifecycle tasks such as requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight testing, often involving avionics services and complex host systems. The position requires a Secret security clearance and offers flexible work schedules, including a 4x10 hour workweek, with benefits such as comprehensive health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will span the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, system and software design and implementation, and integration and flight test.
  • Responsibilities may span the avionics services.
  • Integration activities will include a multitude of host systems, such as live assets of varying capability and structure, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that include constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong embedded OFP or Vehicle Management System software development experience.
  • Strong C++, Python experience.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Git, CI/CD pipeline experience (like GitLab), Windows/Linux.
  • Linux, Embedded Linux.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a Secret security clearance updated within the last 6 years.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with real-time embedded software development.
  • Unit Test development, hardware/software/GNC integration experience.
  • C, Visual Studio Code, Cameo modeling.
  • WOSA.
  • Communication protocols (RS232, RS 422/485, UDP).
  • Software development for FPGA based hardware (Verilog experience is a plus).
  • DevSecOps, code analysis, SIL/HWIL (iHAWK experience is a plus), vehicle software verification experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience level: 14-20 years of professional experience for Level 5 employee.
  • Experience with embedded systems, software development, and integration.
