About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a software engineer as part of a cross-functional product development team to develop new products, features, services, and processes.
  • Design, develop, debug, test, and maintain software for new products, applications, and services, using Python, SQL, and other higher-level languages.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and support administration of WAMP and LAMP stack servers with R&D and operations-related functions. Triage issues and downtime when they arise.
  • Write software specifications, design documents, user models, comments, and docstrings for code in products and services under development. Ensure that software is properly documented for maintenance and understanding by peers.
  • Participate in architecture and code design reviews. Utilize company practices and source control to ensure proper revision control.
  • Develop, customize, or recommend software, scripts, applications, or other solutions to assist in research and development and operations-related projects.

Requirements

  • In progress of obtaining BSEE/BSCS. BS in IT/MIS students are also welcomed to apply.
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer networks
  • Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office tools
  • Ownership of features and bugs, with a desire to write clean, scalable code
  • Comfortable collaborating remotely and asynchronously with peers around the world
  • Familiar with source control practices (Git and/or SVN)
  • Knowledge of SQL, Postgres, or other database technologies
  • Experience administering or maintaining remote LAMP or WAMP stack servers
  • Familiarity with industrial communications technologies and semantics - Modbus, EthernetIP, OPC, etc
  • Familiarity with Python code, including Numpy and Pandas libraries

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing BSEE/BSCS or BS in IT/MIS
