About the Role

The Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Division's GSCCE program is seeking motivated, goal-achieving, and team-oriented Software Engineers (Experienced/Senior) to develop, update, and modernize a global military satellite communications ground system that manages WGS Payloads for F1-F12 satellites. The role involves participating in the entire product development lifecycle, fostering a collaborative environment, and contributing to innovative projects that create a positive global impact. Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack developer, proficient in all application layers from the user interface to the server-side logic and database.
  • Develop and maintain custom software applications using Java, Python, C++, React.js, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
  • Familiar with code hardening and the Application Security & Development (AS&D) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and maintain software systems that meet industry, customer, safety, security, and certification standards.
  • Complete software system-level analyses to identify risks, issues, and opportunities; implement mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure alignment with requirements and standards.
  • Monitor and review test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to review performance issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions for optimal performance.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code within the existing codebase, ensuring adherence to architecture and coding standards.
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
  • Support junior engineering talent through mentorship or technical guidance.
  • Work closely with end-users to design and build solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Work onsite at one of the specified locations, with a requirement for 100% onsite presence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering using modern development approaches.
  • 3+ years of experience with web-based development, including ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile software development.
  • Experience delivering enterprise solutions with Java Spring framework, Spring Boot, JDBC, and front-end frameworks such as Angular.
  • Experience identifying security vulnerabilities within source code.
  • Knowledge of back-end development concepts and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of open-source software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience tuning Kubernetes and host OS for performance.
  • 5+ years troubleshooting software and network integration during platform deployments.
  • 3+ years experience with web socket programming.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and government security requirements for software delivery involving system accreditation.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, self-direct, guide others, and support project leadership activities.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, including interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Export control compliance as a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15.
  • Position is not safety-sensitive.
