About the Role

Specialist, Marketing Management (Creative Strategy) is a role within Nationwide's Enterprise Brand Strategy & Activation (EBSA) team, based in Columbus, OH. The position involves transforming marketing strategies into compelling creative direction, collaborating across marketing and creative teams to bring campaigns to life, and shaping the voice of the brand. Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior creative strategists and managers to translate marketing plans into creative strategies that inspire and align teams.
  • Serve as the go-to for low- to mid-complexity creative requests, assessing project readiness and ensuring alignment before development begins.
  • Own the creative journey for low-complexity projects—from briefing through execution and optimization.
  • Support senior strategists on more complex initiatives.
  • Maintain brand messaging consistency across programs by leveraging master briefs and existing creative assets.
  • Oversee a portfolio of work, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, insight-driven strategies that enhance ROI and inform decision-making.
  • Embrace shifting priorities and contribute to high-quality work that meets business and marketing goals.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long-term sustainable growth.
  • Use data and analytics to support identification and innovation of business-building solutions.
  • Assist with the completion of moderate to complex projects and processes within area of responsibility.
  • Implement digital and traditional marketing tactics, including creative development, planning, and execution.
  • Collaborate on creative development and provide feedback on look and feel.
  • Use customer insights and analytics to forecast market, competitor, and customer needs, define target audiences, and evaluate results with data-based decisions.
  • Monitor timelines to ensure programs are on strategy and schedule, informing leaders of discrepancies.

Requirements

  • 1-4+ years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, or client management, ideally within financial services or an agency setting.
  • Familiarity with B2B, B2C, and B2B2C marketing campaigns.
  • Exposure to video, design, and digital/print production is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, able to draft clear messaging and collaborate effectively.
  • Organized and agile, skilled at managing multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
  • Eager to learn and develop writing and strategic planning skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven marketing development and project management experience.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Ability to use analytics to draw conclusions and make recommendations.

Nice to Have

  • Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus.
  • Additional licensing may be required to hold this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.
