About the Role

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst is an interdependent member of the analytics community who helps build a data driven culture within the Henry Ford health System. Working cross collaboratively, the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst gathers data, generates reports, and provides actionable interpretation of information to customers. They develop comprehensive routine and ad-hoc reports and implement new or improved reporting processes to support strategic goals or key operations. The role involves working with and presenting information to a diverse range of stakeholders, including executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight/regulatory bodies, while demonstrating excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tells a story with data insights that is clear and discerning to help leaders make actionable decisions.
  • Works collaboratively with leaders and teams to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact; consults, designs metrics and reports, and builds solutions as needed.
  • Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing report procedures and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Documents process flows and ensures they are monitored for accuracy and quality.
  • Provides end-user training on existing tools.
  • Routinely participates in webinars and other educational resources to enhance understanding of current developments in healthcare environment.
  • Generates suggestions for improving work efficiency and promoting quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Applies statistical concepts and relays findings, resulting in actionable information.
  • Serves as a liaison between Analytics and Market/Community business leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Science, or other related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a healthcare or business setting.
  • Expert in the use of Excel, SQL, PowerBI Tableau, Qlik, Toad, or other BI tools and report building.
  • Experience in the use of any Enterprise Databases or shared data repository.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) report development.
  • Experience in the use of a programming language.
  • Epic certification in Clarity/Caboodle Data Model.
  • Proven customer service experience with strong active listening skills.
  • Skilled at presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in the use of relational databases and development of data visualizations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of statistical concepts.

Nice to Have

  • Additional certifications in healthcare or data analytics.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment with regulatory compliance knowledge.

  • Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy.
