Sr Business Services Analyst (Data Scientist)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights and inform decision-making.
• Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and usability.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Partner with business units to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden opportunities and inform strategic business strategies.
• Validate and optimize models to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques in data science and analytics to continuously improve skills and methodologies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D. and 5 years of related expertise in data analytics and scientific methodology.
• Strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and SQL.
• Experience in developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, SQL, Transact-SQL, Records Management Systems, and Computer Aided Dispatch.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and related techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for developing relationships with diverse agencies.
