About the Role

As the Senior Buyer Business Services Americas at dsm-firmenich, you will be the vital link between Procurement and Marketing and Business services, responsible for sourcing efforts across multiple North American sites. You will play a key role in shaping procurement strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and ensuring value-driven outcomes in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to leave a significant impact on the organization's trajectory by developing strategic supplier partnerships, delivering savings, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders in the region, ensuring smooth coordination and communication.
Collaborate with Category Managers to develop and implement local and regional strategies for Indirect procurement.
Lead end-to-end procurement processes including supplier selection, negotiations, tendering, contracting, and management for Marketing and Business services and deliver savings.
Build and manage supplier relationships to meet operational and financial goals, fostering innovation and sustainable solutions.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, monitor the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, and drive process efficiency and savings reporting.
Manage contracts proactively, including renewals and tenders, while facilitating structured and result-oriented stakeholder communication.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a relevant field; master's degree preferred.
5+ years of proven expertise in Marketing communications, procurement, or Business services.
Ability to be on-site 2-3 days a week, as required by the hybrid working model.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a results-oriented attitude and the ability to manage complexity.
Strong communication skills to enable effective collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
High resilience and emotional intelligence, with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proven team player mindset, acting as a 'spider in the web' to connect people, processes, and priorities seamlessly.

Qualifications

Educational background in Marketing or relevant field, with a master's degree preferred.
Experience in Marketing communications, procurement, or Business services for at least 5 years.
