About the Role

We're committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts. Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work — every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet. Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all. The Sr. Director, GM - Advertising puts you at the helm of defining and executing a bold advertising strategy that fuels growth, unlocks new revenue streams, and shapes the future of digital monetization. You'll drive revenue for one of the largest Retail Media Networks in the world, grow adoption for our core products, partner with large Brands and Agencies, and lead high-impact partnerships across the ad tech ecosystem. Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams, you'll balance business results with great user experiences. It's a high-visibility opportunity for a strategic, creative, and commercially-minded leader to build and scale a next-gen advertising platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the company-wide advertising strategy, aligning it with business goals, product roadmap, and market opportunities.

  • Inform go-to-market strategies and programmatic monetization efforts.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define requirements, technology integrations, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Partner on the launch of new advertising products, personalization engines, targeting capabilities, and attribution models.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy laws and advertising standards.
  • Establish performance frameworks, KPIs, and real-time dashboards for ad revenue, user engagement, and ROI.
  • Guide A/B testing and continuous optimization of creative formats, targeting, and ad placement.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, product, and partner strategy.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing advertising organization, including sales, ad ops, partnerships, and strategy.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence within the advertising team.
  • Represent advertising in board-level discussions, investor relations, and corporate planning.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in digital advertising, media monetization, or platform strategy.
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • Deep experience with partnering with Brands, Agencies and Retail Media Networks.
  • Strong track record of leading advertising strategy in tech-enabled companies (e.g., marketplaces, SaaS, mobile apps, streaming).
  • MBA or equivalent business/strategy training preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent executive presence, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Commercially driven with a user-first mindset.
  • Strategic and systems-oriented thinker.
  • Highly collaborative with strong executive influence.
  • Innovative, data-driven, and resilient in ambiguity.
  • Passionate about the evolution of the advertising landscape.
