About the Role

The Sr. Director of Growth Experience at Workday is responsible for user experience, user research, and prototyping to identify opportunities for growth. This role involves collaborating across teams to unlock points of friction and drive initiatives that expand Workday’s addressable market. The position requires deep understanding of enterprise software, product development, and cross-functional teamwork within a highly matrixed organization. The role culminates in projects that create strategic advantages for Workday and supports the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead user experience, user research, and prototyping efforts to identify growth opportunities.
  • Help identify points of friction and unlock opportunities to accelerate progress for key initiatives.
  • Engage with incubation units, collaborate with teams across the business, and conduct user studies within new segments such as industries, geographies, and market categories.
  • Review design research studies and sprints with senior leadership including the President of Product & Technology, CTO, and relevant Executive Committee members.
  • Navigate organizational constraints to ensure vision is realized and projects become strategic advantages for Workday.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years demonstrated ability with UX research, prototyping, and software design.
  • 10-15+ years experience in enterprise software, including core HR, Talent, Travel and Expense, Finance, and Analytics.
  • Expertise in new product development and launches.
  • Strong understanding of sales and support processes.
  • Experience employing quantitative and qualitative research in product design.
  • Leadership in cross-functional partnership and ability to influence decisions.
  • Advanced design expertise with a deep understanding of design principles, software, and various media.
  • Outstanding communication skills to articulate design intentions and decisions.
  • Project management skills to lead timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Critical thinking ability to connect design to business goals.
