About the Role

The Sr Embedded Software Engineer will play a critical role within Honeywell's Next-Generation Avionics (NGA) group, focusing on the design, architecture, and deployment of advanced avionics display systems. The role involves working on Honeywell's Anthem Integrated Flight Deck, a cloud-connected, customizable cockpit system that enhances pilot situational awareness and enables future autonomous flight. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative avionics technology that is shaping the future of aviation and aircraft interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement advanced software solutions for Avionics Display systems, applications and services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and user-friendliness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements, design software architectures, and implement software modules
  • Leverage technical expertise in software engineering to drive innovation and deliver high-quality solutions for Anthem Display systems
  • Drive technical excellence and innovation, ensuring software solutions meet project goals and quality standards
  • Engage in software architecture and coding
  • Perform integration of software components
  • Define features and functionalities
  • Conduct verification and validation of software solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in embedded software development
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ software development
  • Understanding of various software development life cycles, methodologies and tools
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, OpenGL
  • Experience developing software in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)
  • Experience in embedded software development for aerospace, avionics, display technologies, or related industries
  • Experience with avionics products such as displays & graphics, flight management, flight planning, flight controls, PFD, TCAS, CAS, terrain, radios
  • Ability to analyze, incorporate, and apply new information quickly
  • Ability to make timely decisions even in complex situations

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience operating in an Agile framework
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 6+ years of embedded software development experience
  • Proficiency in C/C++
